There is more than you could do in 2 days but gives you a few options to choose from if you're looking for an adventure nearby or a 20 minute Uber ride, you will find many great experiences close to your hotel!

Start here — one dollar, one minute, and the whole history of Bunker Hill in a single ride.
This little funicular is the sole survivor of the Bunker Hill demolition — one of the largest urban renewal projects in US history, which cleared a whole Victorian neighborhood to make room for the towers above you.

Bradbury Building

Walk in without expectations. The lobby is the point — I still get quiet every time.
Built in 1893 when a mining millionaire hired an unknown draftsman — who, legend says, consulted a Ouija board. The exterior is plain brick; the atrium is spectacular, and it later became a Blade Runner location. Lesson: never judge a building by its facade.

Lunch stop. Split a few things between you — the tacos and the egg sandwiches are both worth it.
A 1917 market hall that led downtown's comeback. It is the textbook adaptive reuse case: same bones, same footprint, entirely new tenant mix and rent roll.

Free, and the Kusama room alone justifies the walk uphill.
Built by Eli Broad, who made his first fortune in homebuilding at KB Home before turning to art. A developer's balance sheet became a civic landmark — and lifted every parcel around it.

Walt Disney Concert Hall

Take the free outdoor garden stairs around the back — most visitors never find them.
The project stalled for 16 years as little more than a parking garage foundation. When it finally opened in 2003, it reset land values along the whole of Grand Avenue.

City Hall Observation Deck

Bring your passport for security. It is the best free view in the city, and almost always empty.
For 36 years an LA ordinance capped every other building at 150 feet, so City Hall stood alone. The skyline you are looking at is the story of one zoning change.

The former banking hall of Citizens National Bank. The vault now holds rare books instead of deposits — the same square footage, a completely different income stream.

A beautiful night out. Book a window table ahead of time and arrive a little before sunset — around 7:08pm. A 6:30pm reservation is ideal.
The 71st floor of the US Bank Tower, the highest restaurant west of the Mississippi. The tower itself changed hands at a landmark price — a useful benchmark for downtown office value.

Go for sunset. The Hollywood Sign sits right across the canyon from the east lawn.
The land was gifted by Griffith J. Griffith in 1896 — one of the largest private land donations ever made to a US city, and the reason this hillside was never subdivided.

Urban Light is outdoors and free at any hour — worth it even if the museum is closed.
Renzo Piano's Oscar museum plus the 202-streetlamp Urban Light installation, sitting on the 1920s 'Miracle Mile' — the experiment that invented the car-oriented commercial corridor.

The boardwalk, the canals, and Abbot Kinney in one afternoon — go late and stay for the sunset over the water.
Abbot Kinney dredged marshland into a canal resort in 1905 to sell lots. The canals nearly vanished under asphalt, and the few that survived now front some of the most expensive homes on the Westside.
